Q: Do I need to pay for a separate membership if I am a currently enrolled UARK student?
A: No, all UARK students automatically have a membership to the UREC Tennis Center.
Q: How do I check in to play while I am at the UREC Tennis Center?
A: You will need to check in with one of the UREC Tennis Center staff and scan your UARK ID or barcode in the UREC App on your phone.
Q: What are the hours of the UREC Tennis Center?
A: Monday - Saturday, 11:00am-10:00pm and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
*hours may vary depending on time of year. Check the hours page on the UREC website for up to date operating times.
Q: Is there parking at the UREC Tennis Center?
A: Yes, there are parking spots located at the UREC Tennis Center. The spots will not be accessible or able to be used when the center is closed. There is a mixture of pay-for parking and parking pass spots available. Parking pass spots will be monitored between 7:00am-5:00pm Monday - Friday.
Q: Will I be able to checkout equipment at the UREC Tennis Center?
A: Yes, you will be able to check out tennis racquets and pickleball equipment (but on a limited basis).
Q: Will I be able to purchase any equipment at the UREC Tennis Center?
A: Yes, you will be able to purchase a sleeve of tennis balls for $4.00.
Q: Will I be able to reserve a court to play singles or doubles?
A: Yes, you can reserve a court through the Bookings application.
Q: Will I be able to reserve a court for just myself?
A: Yes, the UREC Tennis Center has four courts with Bakko backboards to allow for individual play.
Q: Can I rent court space for an event I'd like to put on?
A: Yes, to request court space for your event you can fill out the UREC Facilities Reservation Form.
Q: Will I be able to bring a friend with me who is not currenlty a UREC member?
A: Yes, you will be able to purchase a guest pass for your friend. Guest passes are $10.00, and can be purchaed in-person at the Service Center in the HPER Building, or online through the UREC Member Portal.
Q: Will I be able to play on the courts if they are wet?
A: No, play will not be allowed if the courts are wet from rainfall.
Q: Can we play when temperatures are below freezing?
A: No, play will be suspended if temperatures reach 32 degrees fahrenheit or below.
Q: Can we play if there are thunderstorms in the area?
A: Per UREC policy, play will be suspended if lightning is detected within 8 miles of the UREC Tennis Center. Play can be resumed after 30 minutes has past since the last detected lightning strike within 8 miles.
Q: Will I be able to play tennis in flip-flops, sandals, or bare feet?
A: No, participants will need to wear closed-toed non-marking, light-soled tennis shoes while playing.
Q: Will I be able to bring drinks and food in to the UREC Tennis Center with me?
A: Yes, you will be able to bring drinks and food in with you, but only in the patio area. Drinks and food are NOT allowed on the courts.
