About UREC

What is UREC?

The Department of University Recreation (UREC) is a major campus-wide service unit in the Division of Student Affairs. 

UREC serves the university community by providing a diverse selection of recreational opportunities and facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for each participant.

Membership

A UREC membership grants access to the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) building, the UREC Fitness Center located on the second floor of the Arkansas Union, the UREC Sports Complex located at 1486 Mitchell St, and the UREC Tennis Center located at 1357 W Indian Trail.

HPER Building

The HPER building is the main facility for University Recreation and offers a wide array of recreational facilities including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, six racquetball courts, ping pong tables, and an indoor jogging track.

The HPER building also features bouldering and climbing walls, the Donna Axum Fitness Center, UREC Train and UREC Cycle studios, a functional training space, and four gymnasiums.
