What is UREC?
The Department of University Recreation (UREC) is a major campus-wide service unit of the College of Education and Health Professions.
UREC serves the university community by providing a diverse selection of recreational opportunities and facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for each participant.

A UREC membership grants access to the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) building, as well as the UREC Fitness Center located on the second floor of the Arkansas Union.

The HPER building offers a wide array of recreational facilities including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, eight racquetball courts, ping pong tables, and an indoor jogging track.
The HPER building also features bouldering and climbing walls, the Donna Axum Fitness Center, UREC Train and UREC Cycle studios, and four gymnasiums.
UREC Fitness Center
The UREC Fitness Center in the Arkansas Union has 6,000 sq. ft. of fitness floor space, a 1,500 sq. ft group fitness studio, men's and women's locker and shower facilities and over 120 total workout pieces.
Free amenities include day lockers, and Wi-Fi.
