Our purpose of the Outdoor Connection Center is to meet the outdoor educational, recreational and personal development needs of the students, faculty and staff of the University of Arkansas.

Who Can Participate?

Participants interested in trips or becoming more involved with the program should contact the Outdoor Center at (479) 575-CAMP. No previous experience is necessary for any of the outdoor recreational programs unless otherwise specified. Enjoy the great outdoors and take advantage of the numerous opportunities!

Trips and Clinics

The trips and activities are offered to currently enrolled students and the university community (Faculty, Staff, and UREC members). The majority of seminars, clinics, and workshops are open to the general public; however, a higher fee may be assessed for non-university participants.  There are two fee categories for University participants: Students & University (Faculty, Staff, and UREC Members).  For all off-campus activities, participants must be at least 17 years of age and realize that the safety of the group takes precedent over the individual's perceived needs.  Unless specified, registration costs include transportation, necessary equipment, instruction, and trained trip leaders! Attendance at any pre-trip meeting is mandatory.

Equipment Rental

For rental equipment, you must be a currently enrolled student, U of A Faculty/Staff or have a UREC membership.

Bike Shop

The full service bicycle repair shop is offered to any currently enrolled student, U of A Faculty/Staff, or a valid URECmember.

Bouldering Wall

The bouldering wall is located in the Outdoor Connection Center and is free for currently enrolled students, URECmembers and guests with a valid pass that are 15 years of age or older. The bouldering wall can only be utilized when the OCC is open. Shoes and chalk are provided to participants at no charge.

Climbing Wall

The climbing wall is free for currently enrolled students, URECmembers and guests with a valid pass.  Participants must be at least 5 years of age and safely fit into the provided harnesses. (Ages 5-14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times).

Registration

Participants must register in advance for all of our clinics, activities, and trips. Registration is done in the OCC on a first come first serve basis and space is limited, so please plan accordingly. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and cost center numbers. Unless the OCC cancels the scheduled activity, all program registration fees are non-refundable or transferable. Please contact the OCC staff for additional questions regarding cancellation policies.
