Our Purpose
The Fitness/Wellness program exists to provide a diverse selection of quality recreational activities for individuals to pursue fitness, wellness, and leisure opportunities that enhance their personal development and establish habits for a healthy lifestyle.
What We Offer
The Department of University Recreation offers a wide variety of structured and open fitness opportunities. More information on each of the following programs is available by clicking one of the links below.
Personal Training and Fitness Assessments
University Recreation can help achieve fitness and exercise goals through the use of the Individualized Fitness and Fitness Assessment program. Experienced student trainers guide participants through exercise programs, providing instruction, motivation, and personalized attention. A variety of package types are available.
Licensed massage therapists are available at established days and times during the week. Please call 479.575.4646 for pricing and available appointment times.
UREC is proud to host national certifications in areas including group fitness and personal training. Special interest classes and programs are also offered on a seasonal and interest-driven basis. Please refer to the corresponding menu on the left for current offerings.
Who Can Participate
Facilities and programs are offered to University of Arkansas students and UREC Members only. Non-members may be eligible to attend clinics, certifications, and instructional programs. Please refer to the specific program you wish to attend for eligibility requirements. Use of the Donna Axum Fitness Center, UREC Fitness Center and all Group Fitness classes is on a drop-in basis, however, Group Fitness participants must pre-register once per semester. All other programs require pre-registration in HPER 225.
