Cricket

About Club

The University Of Arkansas Cricket began its operation in May of 2011. Its first full year of existence was the academic year of 2011-12. Cricket is the second most played international sport after soccer, thanks mainly to a high level of interest in South Asia, Australia, some parts of the Europe and Africa and the Carribbean islands. It has had a place in Northwest Arkansas for a long time with students from the university playing with the local population on a regular basis for the better part of the last decade. That interest is reflected in the fact that the club had a total of around 25 members in its first year of existence and hopes to grow even more. With the formation of the cricket club, cricket has found a formal place in the university and will provide a platform for the spread of the sport here further and possible participation in inter-collegiate competitions.
